L’opera #FENICE è stata creata per “Crash/fragments”, un concorso artistico indetto dalla Galleria Spazio 1b di Lugano in collaborazione con la Biennale dell’Immagine di Chiasso nel 2019. Il tema desiderava indagare nei momenti di rottura, tensione e scontro, sia nella dimensione interiore che sociale, alla ricerca di frammenti carichi di energie dai quali è possibile ricominciare. Il Crash visto come portatore di cambiamento e stimolo per un nuovo inizio, affrontato dall’artista attraverso la figura della fenice.
La fenice è un uccello mitologico capace di risorgere dalle proprie ceneri in un vortice continuo di fine e inizio, di conclusione e rigenerazione, di distruzione e rinascita. Simbolo di evoluzione, di sapienza acquisita, di conquista della propria personalità e di personificazione della forza vitale, la sua figura ricorda il cammino che occorre intraprendere durante profonde fasi di cambiamento.
Il dipinto #FENICE è nato dall’ascolto di testimonianze legate a momenti di rinascita, a ricostruzioni sorte da detriti rimasti al suolo, quando dal buio del disfacimento i contorni del conosciuto si sono fusi in ogni presente possibile, condizione di inspirazione ricettiva necessaria da cui è potuto fuoriuscire il soffio di una propria verità magari a fino a quell’istante rimasta sopita; specchio in cui potersi realmente osservare, per tornare a volare.

The work was created for “Crash”, an art competition organized by the Galleria Spazio 1b in Lugano in collaboration with the 2019 Biennale dell’Immagine in Chiasso. The theme aimed to look at moments of breaking points, tension and conflict, both in the inner and social dimension, seeking fragments full of energy from which to start again. Crash is seen as something that brings about change and inspires new beginnings, taken on by the artist with the figure of the phoenix.
The phoenix is a mythological bird that can rise from the ashes in the midst of a continuous whirlwind of end and beginning, conclusion and regeneration, destruction and rebirth. A symbol of evolution, acquired wisdom, getting in touch with one's own personality, and personifying life force, the figure brings to mind the path taken during profound phases of change.
The #FENICE painting came about after listening to people talk about their experiences of rebirth, of rebuilding from the debris left on the ground, when from the darkness of destruction the outline of the known merged into every possible present. This was the necessary inspiration that brought about the winds of truth, which perhaps until that moment remained dormant; a mirror one can truly look into in order to take flight once again.
